I did my shot this morning. It was totally no big deal whatsoever. I took a deep breath, pinched my belly, and stuck it in. Didn't even feel it. Phew.
I also realized that our 85 pound dog is on meds (which Aaron was giving), and spent another 10 minutes wrestling with him and jamming 3 pills down his throat. Last night, I tried the 'trick the doggie' idea - stuffing the pills in pieces of cheese... unfortunately the monster figured me out and would manage to eat the cheese, but no pill.
Samantha tagged me for the 6 things meme, so here I go:
1) Link to the person who tagged you (I did above).
2) Post the rules.
3) Share six non-important things / habits / quirks about yourself.
4) Tag at least three people.
5) Make sure the people you tagged KNOW you tagged them by commenting what you did.
1. I never make my bed
2. I love days when it rains.
3. I HATE hate hate hate listening to voicemail.
4. I also HATE grocery shopping.
5. I love getting real mail. Like snail mail. But I myself don't send Christmas cards. I'm more about the random 'Thinking of You' card or birthday card.
6. I really want a fish tank. But I don't want to deal with taking care of it, so I don't have one. But in the past, I've had 2 fish that have lived for a really long time. The frist was my goldfish Charlie. I won him at a fair, he lived in a mason jar for a while, and slowly made his way up in life to a ten gallon tank. He was big enough to fry up for lunch and not be hungry afterwards. He didn't die (and I didn't fry him up!) - I let him go in someone's Koi pond - and at that point, I'd had him for 6 years. And more recently, my Beta fish, Mercury. He lived for 2 years!
I tag Baby Step, Morrisa, and Bside-Kenya!

Giving the dog a pill was probably a lot harder than the shot!
That's one big goldfish!
Good for you for giving yourself the shot!
And I love rainy days too. In fact, I now love them so much that I refuse to take a sub job if it's raining.
Hey! Sorry, I was already tagged for the 6 thing meme, and it was hard enough to think of 6 things, so I am not doing it again. :-) Damn dogs. :-) My dog HATES taking meds too. He also knows when I am planning to put the flea medicine on, or the ear stuff, or the mouth rinse (yes, I put mouth rinse in his mouth once a week!)...he can feel a vibe before I even walk into the kitchen to get whatever it is I want to give him, and he slips out the dog door and hides under the deck!
That is too funny! You crack me up girl, I guess I'm it.
OMG...my dog does the same thing! A day or two of sticking a pill in a hot dog or cheese and he figures that scam out. Luckily his daily allergy meds are gel caps so I can squeeze the gel into wet dog food. Ugh. As dumb as they are sometimes, they can also be too smart.
I hope that this will be your time. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck.
I'm glad to hear you had your shot without issues. If only the dog had been that easy LOL.
Reading stories like that make me realise how lucky we are to have dogs that swallow without chewing. It makes it easier to hide pills.
I'm glad that the shot went well! ::crossing my fingers::
My dogs do the same thing with pills. You see them wolf things do, and then when they need to take medicine, they are able to spit out the medicine even from the most carefully disguised treats.
LOL..."all hardcore and shit."
I'm decidedly NOT and hate that I'm such a wimp. I know everyone can do it themselves, but I just can't.
My dog used to figure out the pill thing every time. Then I tried putting it in liverwurst (ick) and it worked for some reason. Maybe the strong odor keeps the dog from smelling the pill?
