So - the insurance lady just called back. I was declined. Something about not 'being exposed to sperm' for 12 months after the ectopic.
Aaron is calling the doc's office right now.
But WTF! I'll keep updating this post as a learn more - but this would mean that I couldn't do IVF until OCTOBER.

WTF is right!!! I am so sorry, and I am appalled by insurance companies in general. Definitely try to fight them on this. My experience with insurance companies is that sometimes they will cave.
Best of luck, and I am so sorry.
We're lucky in Canada we don't have to fight with insurance companies, but unlucky in that we just have to pay for the whole f*ing thing. Definitely fight them cuz I always figure in situations like this, all they can say is no, so what do you have to lose. Good luck.
What the fuck is THAT kind of excuse??? You fight, girl...
*hug*
It all sucks! Waiting really sucks! I hope something changes!
Oh that stinks! Hopefully you will be able to push them into it.
Insurance companies are evil. I temped for one years ago when I was in grad school and was absolutely horrified to hear this woman that I once respected talk about what a waste "Early Education" was. That it's not worth the investment. "But it helps developmentally-delayed children," I wanted to scream. How can it not be a good investment??!
That's when I knew that I was not meant for the private sector....
Take them on. Inconvenience them at the very least!!
What? WTH does "exposure to sperm" mean???? Whatever. I'm hoping your dh is able to strangle a few necks and get a better answer.
I agree - WTF??!!??
Although I must admit, I nearly snorted wine through my nose when I read the phrase 'exposed to sperm'. I'd love to try to work that one into a conversation...
