- I got tickets to a Day Out with Thomas. I was going back and forth on it, but I have the day off work, and Aaron doesn't. Sometimes it's actually easier with two kids to go do a super big EVENT than to just stay home.
- This weekend is the church fair. There is a bounce house, games, a bagpiper, and other fun music stuff. Cam and Maggie's best grown up friend, Suzanne, is coming to go with them. Just Suzanne alone is enough to make my kids crazy with excitement.... add in a bounce house - and they are going to lose it.
- Aaron's grandmother is coming to visit. She wants to take us out for dinner. Let's hope the gang is on the best behavior.
- The dinner would be Saturday night. So we pray that the bounce house excitement leads to good naps. Or we are going to have a disaster.
- Night time potty training. I'm not even thinking about it, because Cam never wakes up dry. What have the rest of you done for this? Should I wait until he starts waking up dry? Because sometimes I wonder if he wakes up, realizes that he has a diaper on, and pees.
- I'm currently dollhouse obsessed. I like this one, this one, and this one.
- Aaron is willing to build the dollhouse. So I'm trying to decide if the Melissa and Doug (with the 'real' windows and tiny little details) is necessary - and in which case I don't think Aaron could swing it. But one like Anna's dollhouse Aaron could totally make - but will Maggie like it as much as one with all the pretty bits? Or will it be cooler that Daddy made it?

Have a great weekend! Sounds like a lot planned, but that's what you DO. :)
Re: nighttime training? We didn't do anything about it, really, Owen just started waking up dry once we got into the habit of having him use the potty first thing in the morning. We used pull ups early on in training. When he had significantly more dry nights than wet (nearly every night), we allowed him to sleep in his underwear.
He was day trained probably back in the beginning of August, and we JUST started the underwear at night thing. So there was definitely a lag for us.
I have friends who woke their kids up in the middle of the night to take them to the bathroom because they were such sound sleepers. I'd be surprised if Cam is waking up fully and peeing - likely he's either doing it in his sleep or right when he wakes up in the morning because he really has to go and can't make it to the bathroom. You may want to try getting him to pee before you go to bed at night, 10-11pm or so, and see if it helps.

The one dad makes!!! Hands down. I still have the one my dad made, and have passed it down to Hannah. When she gets older, she can "decorate" with pretty bits if she likes. Meanwhile, cheap plastic stuff is generally "prettier" in the minds of a toddler and preschooler...some Barbie/polly pocket/etc thing will end up on her wish list ;)
I'm not bothering with night training, frankly because I don't care if she is night trained or not. It doesn't cause any more work for me. Also, she still sleeps in her crib and I think it would be kind of mean to stick her in a cage with no way to use the bathroom on her own.
Check out Bella Luna toys for a dollhouse too. Some of them are so pretty. http://www.bellalunatoys.com/wooden-dollhouses/doll-houses.html
Another vote for letting night training take care of itself. It worked out pretty quickly for my older daughter, but as I knew 5 year olds who still needed pull ups I did not want to make the nighttime training an ordeal that lasted years. It happens when it happens.
Your weekend sounds like so much fun! We are going to have great weather here in the midwest, so I think an apple orchard visit will be on the itinerary.
On the night time potty training, our son slept do soundly, that wetting the bed did not wake him up. We finally just put him back in pull ups until he started waking up dry. From the state of his bed, I think he would go several times and never know it ti I woke him the next morning. Sounds like you have a great weekend planned!
I vote for daddy-made doll house, especially because of my own experience with two doll houses... the simple, plain wood one (with a cool flip top lid) i could reach into easily from all sides was WAY preferable to me than my super expensive Barbie dream house.
