For lack of a way to pull all these thoughts together in a coherent way - randomness reigns:
Nora's tree - we have found the perfect tree. It'll be a pink weeping cherry, which I'm excited about (we got married in front of a similar tree, and it was important to me that it be a pink flowering tree). I was stressing on costs of everything, as Aaron of course wanted to add onto the project leveling our backyard (which is somewhat unusable right now - and we do need a level spot for the playset). But we got the name of a very down to earth, laid back guy, and we can actually afford to do everything. So - the tree will get planted within the next month, and hopefully we'll get the backyard is good shape for us to be able to play there this summer!
Maggie Sleeps - she is consistently going from 7 PM - 1 or 2 AM, drinks a quick bottle and then is back to sleep until 6 or 7 AM. It's SO nice.
Maggie does NOT eat solids - I try every day, and every day she flips out. Yesterday she even managed to throw up after I tried. Good times. She is 5 months old this week, and I can't decide if I should stress out about it or not.
Traveling - this month, we are going to be traveling with the babies almost every weekend. This weekend I'm going up to Saco Maine with both Hulk and Maggie, and Hulk's godmother. On Mother's day weekend we are going to see Aaron's mother, and on our anniversary weekend (the 22nd) we are going to Camden, Maine. Then on June 4th, I'm taking Maggie to NC to see my father and stepmother. Phew. Let's hope it's not a nightmare.

On the not eating - I'm no doctor, but I wouldn't stress. I imagine she will in her own time...as long as she is getting enough to drink, she is getting the nutrients she needs. If you are concerned, take her to the dr to see if there is something going on or for him to alleviate the worry. (unless you have one of those docs that think every child applies to the same time line)
OH, and I really really hope they all travel beautifully for you!!
I too wouldn't worry about the eating but would check with doc only because of issues with stomach before. Good luck with the travels sounds like lots of fun. Also, would you be willing to pass along the name of the landscape guy? I am looking to plant that very same tree and also need some work done. Thanks.
Ok, definitely do not worry about solids, 5 months is actually early, they now recommend that babies do not get any kind of solids for at least (!) 6 months as early introduction often leads to allergies (previously they used to say 3 months I think). Some babies are not ready even then. She is right on target ! I think you can google up lots of information about this. So the later you start her on solids, the better for her. Cant wait to see the tree blooming !
My daughter hated solids for the first 8 months. I just kept trying and trying. Around 8 months she didn't want pureed food AT ALL, so I started giving her very very small table food. Now she is almost 1 and a big 'ol piglet!
I wouldn't stress too bad, sometime babies don't like that texture.
Definitely don't stress about the solids. As somebody else mentioned, many doctors now actually recommend waiting until 6 months to introduce solids, though earlier is fine if the baby is interested. If she's not interested yet, it's not a problem. Good luck!
She's young to be on solids imo. The Chieftain gummed some solids, but really didn't take to them until he was ohn, 7-8-9 mos old. Then again, he never liked baby food. If she starts picking at your plate, then it's time for the solids.
Nora's tree sounds beautiful. I can't wait to see it. Let Maggie relax on the eating until she's six months. I wouldn't worry too much about it until then. I would recommend Ellyn Satter's book: Feeding with Love and Good Sense. I love her philosophy and it really helped with my girls who can be very picky.
The tree sounds beautiful. I hope you'll post a picture once it's all done.
And I wouldn't worry about the no solids thing. Nolan hates baby foods but will eat things like MumMums and small pieces of table foods just fine. You might try that, or just wait it out.
My oldest didn't eat solids until he was 8 months old. He grew up to be big and strong. :) Don't stress ... enjoy!

If she is healthy and putting on weight then don't worry about her not eating solids yet. Have a great time on each of your travels.
