Thanks for all the tips and virtual support on Maggie's annoyingness. Funny someone suggested wearing her while I made dinner - I thought of that too. I did grab my carrier and she HATED it. She wanted DOWN. Oh well. Last night I did my dream dinner run, and Aaron had the kids on his own for dinner and bath time. He said that Maggie was just walking around screeching, so he turned to her and screeched back! She paused, made a sad face, and walked away. He said it was hilarious!
I was trying to look in her mouth to see if it was maybe teeth - and I gave up. I need to remember that this too shall pass! So I've been trying to capture the fun on video - unsuccessful so far - but you will all laugh when I finally get it to show you.
I have a birthday present question. Cam has been invited to a party for a 2 year old girl. I was thinking of giving her this push toy. Maggie has that one and loves it. And Cam has this one and loves it. But I then realized that Cam plays with it only when Maggie grabbed it first. Is it too young of a toy for a 2 year old? The age on the toy says 1-3 years. My other thoughts are this music set (also thinking maybe too young) or a sing-a-ma-jig (which I think are HILARIOUS but others may find super annoying). The music set and the sing-a-ma-jog are in my 'gift closet' already. Am I overthinking!? Gah. I guess I could go shopping, but not in the mood!

I love the sing-a-ma-jig! Its so cute and it would give the opportunity to pair with another of the same to create a duet at another time. 2nd year gifts are hard because you can't be sure if the child is mature enough for certain toys or more mature that the toys in their age range that could bore them. Got with your gut!
I hope things with Maggie ease up. I too had issues with bed time/bath time but they were overcome with patience and persistence. At some point she will just get over it. Good luck!
I'd go with the singamajig. The others I think may be too young or (she may grow out of quickly).
I say go with something from your gift closet. Save money and make your life easier by not having to go shopping!
I love the sing-a-ma-jig! My brother got one for each of my kiddo's for Christmas. He didn't see the appeal but I assured him they would like them and they did. I do very much like the push toy though. I think it's adorable and totally age appropriate. I could easily see my 2-year-old Livi playing with that.
I like the music set best. I think the 2 wooden push toys are too young. The sing-a-ma-jig does look cool, but like you said, you don't know whether the girl's mom would like it. Stressful!
A Barbie, a doll, a purse with some fake jewlery. These are my 3 and 2 year old's favorite things.
All of those look like great idea and if it were me, I would go with something I already have on hand!
My girls who will be two in 2 months have push toys like that and they never touch them. Just my two cents...
My two year old loves push toys and they seem pretty popular at playgroups too. I think the music set is cute too.
I vote that you go on Etsy and buy cute hairbows. ;)
My almost 14 mo is crying about everything, he lays his head down on his heads and sobs. he normally eats so much but meals are now a struggle. getting his pajamas on tonight was torture tonight. just must be the age!
Pillow pet? My 10 and 6 year old both love theirs and my one year old gets super excited whenever they share.
I probably wouldn't do the push toy at 2 - not sure what a sing-a-ma-jig is. Around that age I started Jim on chunky puzzles from Melissa and Doug and he got his 1st Thomas train set (yes, girls love trains too!). Oh, and Playdough - he really loved getting one of the bags that had all the "tools" for cutting and shaping dough. I added a 99c set of cookie cutters and he was in heaven!
