So. Annoyed.

This weekend, we went out and got a new washer/dryer. We have a plan to move them from our first floor to the second (heaven!) and in order to do that, needed the stackable ones. Since this weekend was MA tax free day, we figured why not.

We went to Sears, found the ones we wanted, paid, and scheduled delivery for Monday. They were supposed to call on Sunday night to confirm delivery time. They didn't, but I called the 1-800 number in the morning, and there was an automated message that indicated that I would take delivery between 4:45 - 6:45. This was somewhat annoying, because I had a meeting until 4, and needed to get groceries and wanted to go to the gym, but I was more excited about the new, fancy, front loading, washer and dryer.

At 7:45 PM, I call Sears. They promise that although things are running late, I should at least get a call within the hour. At 8:30, finally get a call that they are running SO late, could they put me first on the list for the next morning. Whatever. Annoying (as the grocery store is now closed) and I wasn't planning on working from home today, but fine.

This morning? Never got a phone call on the morning delivery. At 10:45 I call the number, and I'm told they will call me in 2 hours. at 1:15, I'm ripshit, and call again. They now tell me that I have no delivery scheduled for today - can they move it to Thursday!?! AUGH! So I call Aaron (who I was trying not to bother, as he is out of town on business), who calls. He is first told that I rescheduled the delivery (bullshit) and then is told that the freaking washer/dryer is out of stock. WHAT THE FREAK?

At this point, we are considering canceling the order. But I left the house to go get milk (which we are in desperate need of) and I get home. While talking to Aaron on the phone, I drop the whole gallon of milk in the garage. It broke. There is milk all over the garage floor. I started crying. I'm just SO ANNOYED. I can't believe that something as easy as getting a washer/dryer could be this difficult - and that I couldn't just handle it myself! And then, the freaking people lie to Aaron about what I said!?!?

And then I drop the milk. Tops off a perfect day.

I need a drink.

UNBELIEVABLE! As I started to spell check this, the Sears delivery truck pulled up. And then the phone rang, it was Aaron telling me he canceled the order. Hmmm. I'm just going to sit here and let them install them. What a fracked up situation.

That is craziness. I can't believe it was that much trouble! I hope it is worth it. I love my new washer and dryer.

How obnoxious! I mean you bend over backwards and rearrange your schedule to deal with their delays and what do you get...more delays! Arrrggghhh! It sounds like my experience every time I change cable or satellite providers.

I would be SO peeved off. How freaking annoying! I'm glad you're getting your new washer and dryer but that really sucks that it took so much trouble to do it. I hope it's fabulous!

Oh my geez that is sooo ridiculous!!!

I would be pissed and in tears too. I cannot stand when stores pull that crap. I would be demanding a return of any delivery fees!!!

My new policy is to find the e mails of all the higher ups from the company and write and polite but pointed e mail. It worked great for Sprint. It got me out of the contract. This is a Sears problem and you should be compensated for your time and aggravation. Don't waste your time with customer service. I found this site and hope it helps.

That absolutely sucks. I thought only Com*cast and our insurance company sucked that bad but apparently Sears has decided to give them a run for their money.

I hope the new washer and dryer are awesome to make up for it!

That's Sears for you. We will never ever, ever buy anything from them again. We bought our AC from them a couple weeks ago, it broke within a week and a half and on a Saturday when it was 105 degrees outside. Do you know what they told us? "Sorry, we can't help you until Monday." I went through the freaking roof! My AC doesn't have the courtesy to only break down between the hours of 9-5 Mon-Fri. Then they told us they would have someone out first thing Monday morning. No one called. No one came over. When I called them, they told me that whoever we spoke to on Saturday lied, and now they couldn't get someone out until the next day. I lost it and started yelling at the girl because we had already been without AC in 105 degree heat for three days. Funny enough, my sweetie was on a business trip too, and I had to call him. Needless to say, someone was out that afternoon. I HATE Sears! I completely feel your pain.

Urgh, on your behalf....

Sears must universally suck at delivery. We had our fridge delivered in a motorcycle trailer...when they pulled out the fridge, it was laying down b/c it wouldn't fit standing up (not recommended).

What a load of crap they gave you.

Stories like this are why I use Hunter Appliance. Lord, but I do hate Sears. We had Drama when we got our front loaders last summer, but not this much.

I hope you love your machines as much as I do mine. They'll be worth the hasssle, I promise.

Now, I wonder if you'll be billed for them? Since Aaron cancelled the order, and all.

OMG...that is total craziness. I would have probably reacted the same way you did.

I never will buy from Sears. Talk to Carole (Carole Knits) and have her tell you about her " barrel of fun" with them last year. I've done the drop the gallon of milk after an awful day- so *not* fun! Hang in there. Aaron was right to cancel the order. If they did install it I hope they did it correctly- they are notorious for bad installs too.
